REFORMER PILATES

Why reformer Pilates?

After years of teaching mat Pilates for physio rehab and general fitness, I tried a reformer Pilates class and became obsessed. A reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates apparatus with a mobile carriage, springs, ropes and pulleys. It's based on the original equipment used by Joseph Pilates in New York in the 1920s. The springs enable us to increase and decrease tension allowing more support or a challenge to exercises.

Reformer Pilates allows us to work the whole body challenging our core, flexibility, mobility and strength. It helps target individual muscles, helping with our alignment and control.
